My own theme

I made a base theme that I call Minimal Uni that I think would be a good base to build a university course website. Clean, minimal, responsive, customizable.

Themes that look nice to me

One-column, text-oriented

• No Style Please - I found this AFTER making my own minimal theme template! Pretty good, but maybe a little tech-y
• Ed - good for writing, hamburger menu nav
• Garth - nice simple theme, no nav
• White-paper - another nice simple singlepage
• Scriptor - Beautiful responsive design, head & image of each post on frontpage, w/ top nav links - i use something like this for my own blog
• hikari - kinda nice kinda clunky blocky, pop-up hamburger menu
• Hitchens - attractive sophisticated-looking theme for longform blog writing
• Swiss - a swiss-design inspired theme, 1 column
• console - a minimal almost-good hacker-ish single column theme

Two-column and Portfolio-style

• Duo - great for image-forward portfolio
• MSR Student Portfolio Theme - attractive gallery and good documentation - preview
