Hi! I noticed that most of your opening dates are for 2016 and earlier (besides a few 2017s). Do you have any idea where I could get data from after that? Is this list comprehensive, or just what you were able to find? What did you do to find these addresses?
Thanks so much.
And also how did you figure out which ones were sortation centers? (doesn't seem to be a public list like there is with fulfillment centers)
Same question goes for all the variations like large non-sortable, etc. Plus: how did you figure out when they opened? Thanks, Ingrid.
Hi @Arb1993, this data is from a 2016 version of the MWPVL warehouse tables, which used to be presented in an easy-to-parse tabular form on their website and now are image files of tables. MWPVL maintains what looks like the most comprehensive and up to date public lists of these warehouses, but OCR-ing and cleaning up their image-file based data tables is just super-tedious so I've yet to see anyone share a machine readable version of it (which would be a tremendous public service for researchers!). You might try contacting Good Jobs First, who did an Esri story map including the MWPVL data a while back which means they likely have a machine readable version.
Ahhh, Ingrid, (@lifewinning), you are a lifesaver! Thank you for getting back to me so quickly. This really helps as I've seen MWPVL's list and was going to have to compare each facility on the two files if you hadn't told me that. I have news for you: I'm doing it, and I'm starting today. I'll keep you posted and let you know when it's ready.
@Arb1993 Did you end up putting this new list together?
If not:
import requests
html = requests.get('https://www.youramazonguy.com/amazon-address-list/').text
from bs4 import BeautifulSoup
soup = BeautifulSoup(text,'html.parser')
ffc = {}
for row in soup.find_all('tr'):
if 'SAN Code' in row.text:
continue
cells = row.find_all('td')
code = cells[1].text
added = cells[2].text
address = cells[4].text
ffc[code]=address
I have it on good authority that some of your square-feet numbers are off. As far as I'm aware, for example, BNA3 is 1,100,000 square-feet, not 1,000,000.
Where did you compile your data from?
Yeah, but warehouses just don't grow. I did look over what MWPVL has up currently and it doesn't jive with what I've been able to research myself. Just an FYI.
Is there an official list for this?
