"custom module" modulepath path

create directory

mkdir -p .modulefiles/reference/human

create the module file .modulefiles/reference/human/GRCh37.75.lua

whatis("Version: GRCh37.75")
whatis("Keywords: Human Genome Reference")
whatis("Description: Human Genome Reference")
pushenv("REF","/sandbox/resources/species/human/ensembl/release-75/Homo_sapiens.GRCh37.75.dna.toplevel.fa")

add the directory in the ${MODULEPATH}

export MODULEPATH=${HOME}/.modulefiles:${MODULEPATH}

list available modules

$ module avail

----------------------------------------------------------------- /sandbox/users/lindenbaum-p/.modulefiles ------------------------------------------------------------------
   reference/human/GRCh37.75
(...)

use the module

$ module load reference/human/GRCh37.75
$ echo ${REF}
/sandbox/resources/species/human/ensembl/release-75/Homo_sapiens.GRCh37.75.dna.toplevel.fa
