Step 1: Stop Using Your Phone Immediately
Deleted files aren’t immediately erased from the phone’s storage; they are marked as “free space” and can be overwritten by new data. Avoid installing apps, taking new photos, or saving files to the device.
Step 2: Check Built-in Recovery Options
Recycle Bin or Trash: Many Vivo phones have a trash folder in the Gallery or File Manager where deleted files are stored temporarily (usually for 30 days).
Open the Gallery app.
Go to Albums > Recently Deleted or a similar folder.
Restore the files if available.
Cloud Backup: If you had a VivoCloud, Google Photos, or other cloud backup services enabled, your photos might be stored there.
Log into the respective cloud service and check.
Step 3: Use Data Recovery Software
If the files are not in a trash folder or cloud backup, you can use forensic or data recovery tools.
Forensic-Level Recovery Tools (Advanced)
Autopsy (Open Source): A digital forensics tool that can analyze phone storage if connected via USB.
Magnet AXIOM or Cellebrite: Professional tools often used by digital forensic experts, but they require specialized access.
Consumer-Friendly Recovery Tools
Dr.Fone - Data Recovery (Android):
Download on a computer.
Connect your Vivo phone using a USB cable.
Run the recovery process and scan for deleted photos/videos.
EaseUS MobiSaver (Android):
Works similarly to Dr.Fone, and it’s user-friendly.
DiskDigger (Root Required):
If your phone is rooted, this app can recover lost data more effectively.
Step 4: Root Your Phone (Optional)
Rooting allows advanced access to the storage system, making recovery more effective.
Be cautious; rooting can void your warranty and may complicate recovery if not done properly.
Step 5: Seek Professional Help
If the above methods don’t work:
Visit a professional data recovery service or forensic lab.
They can use specialized tools and techniques to recover your files.
Important Note
Act quickly. The longer you wait, the higher the chance the deleted files will be overwritten. If possible, create a full backup or image of your phone’s storage before proceeding.
