[ Poopin'd Status Screenshot ]
If your status reads like this, with you none-the-wiser, consider yourself Poopin'd. You have been initiated into a trend so prevalent it's got an [official set of rules].
Under normal circumstances, the lifecycle of a Poopin' involves you turning a blind eye to your cell phone for thirty seconds, a keenly aware and diabolical friend, and subsequent social media dignity losses. Statistically speaking, considering that there are approximately 5,000,000,000 cellphones globally. That's a potential of quite a bit of Poopin'.
But think about this, more people across the globe have access to cell phones than have access to clean toilets.
Preventable diseases caused by a lack of basic sanitation kill more people each year than AIDS, malaria, and the measles combined. Toilet humor is only funny when you've got one.
So let's start a movement! What if Poopin' can do more than just lose you a few virtual cool points? Let us send one Facebook status update or Tweet on your behalf on March 13th, 2011 — World Poopin' Day. We are asking for your permission to Poopin' on your account.
In return, you'll help us raise awareness for [Water.org]'s efforts to improve sanitation around the globe as well as make a practical difference thanks to our good-humored corporate sponsors.
Terms & Conditions | |
Yes, terms and conditions. What do you think this is, a joke? World Poopin' Day, or WPD for the initiated, raises awareness for global sanitation challenges by Poopin' all over your social media. It works like this: you volunteer your Twitter and / or Facebook logins, which we store and go to great lengths to protect, for the sole, singular purpose of Poopin' on your account on World Poopin' Day — March 13, 2011.
