In February, Fruit Roll-Ups was introduced in test market. This product was a chewy fruit snack made from real fruit pressed into a thin, flat sheet and then rolled around a special plastic wrapper. Traditionally referred to as "fruit leather", the snack was unrolled, peeled from the plastic and eaten. Each roll was enclosed in a foil pouch with eight pouches packaged in a carton. Fruit Roll-Ups was introduced in four fruit flavors--Strawberry, Apple, Apricot and Cherry. The brand name "Fruit Corners" was later added to the product name. In April, a new Fruit Corners snack was introduced in test market. Fruit Bars was a 100 natural bar made from real fruit with no preservatives. The snack was introduced in four flavors--Strawberry, Cherry, Grape and Orange-Pineapple. Each Fruit Bar was individually wrapped in a foil pouch with six bars in each package. It contained six pouches of bite size pieces of real fruit. It had no preservatives or artificial flavors. Snackin' Fruits was introduced in four flavors: Apple, Cherry, Orange and Strawberry. It would be discontinued in June, 1985. In November, Fruit Corners Fruit Roll-Ups in Orange flavor was introduced nationally. It was made from real oranges. | |

Each box contained six pouches of bite size pieces of real fruit. It was flagged as an excellent source of Vitamin C -- 25% of U.S. RDA. Fruit Wrinkles was introduced in four flavors. They were Cherry, Lemon, Orange and Strawberry. | |
