  • Maptime Socials
    • could be every other month or quarter? What about not affiliated to the meeting times
    • not on Wednesdays so we can get more people
    • Christy is willing to take this on
  • Andrew is feeling burnt out, and that's healthy - now that there are three of us
    • who does what and when?

Monthly duties for organizers

  • primary leader per month
    • point of contact for guest instructor
    • having too many instructors in the room can almost be a drawback in some ways - too many cooks in the kitchen kind of deal
    • having good friends in the room can be a down side, let's be more welcoming as leaders
  • duties of primary monthly leader
    • getting a space for the meeting
    • if a guest instructor, make sure you are the main contact and can help them
    • posting to meetup.com
    • tweeting
    • making sure the website has a resource posted about the event
    • opening the meetup, tell everyone about maptime (don't let guest instructors do this)
    • AV setup is working, including slides online and shared
  • duties of secondary leader
    • let's consider the secondary leader "on call"
    • be the greeter at meetings
    • back-up primary

Potential upcoming meetings

Let's try to prioritize women for talks

  • Caileigh - R, machine learning
  • Marty
  • Sarah - Tableau Public
  • Mapbox Studio (potentially collaboration with Hey Duwamish)
  • Christy - using python in QGIS
  • Hand drawn - Matt Stevenson?
  • Project night
  • Lyzi sometime this year?

Part 2's

  • many optiosn for QGIS
  • put more work into our tutorials
  • rather than framing it as part 2, this is another aspect of leaflet
  • "clouding" up some of the technologies and pieces so people don't get lost
