Role: Junior Developer Advocate

Employer: Exoscale

Location: Flexible; Berlin or Switzerland preferred

How to apply: Email your CV/resume and supporting information to [email protected]

Summary:

Do you love to play with new technologies and then share what you’ve found with other developers? Do you want to learn more about Docker, Kubernetes, Ansible and other devops tech?

We’re looking for someone who wants to combine their passion for writing and deploying code with their love of communicating that passion. You’ll be responsible for spreading awareness and adoption of our public cloud platform among developer and devops communities primarily online but also throughout Europe through code, blog posts, meet-ups, conferences, videos and more. This is an excellent opportunity to learn the developer relations craft and raise your own profile.

Responsibilities:

Working as part of our marketing team, you’ll help to implement our community strategy, including:

  • Running Exoscale’s social media presence (Twitter, Reddit, Hacker News and so on).
  • Spreading awareness of Exoscale through online and local developer communities through mailing lists, StackOverflow answers, forum posts, meet-ups and more.
  • Raising Exoscale’s profile in the container and container orchestration community.
  • Blogging, making screencasts and other videos, and pushing code that demonstrate key technologies on Exoscale’s platform.
  • Helping to run exhibition booths at developer conferences.
  • Writing code to integrate Exoscale with open source tools and technologies.
  • Running Exoscale’s social media outlets.
  • Helping to identify the Exoscale community and finding better ways to serve them.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with at least one programming language.
  • Experience with Docker and similar technology.
  • Understanding of developer culture and community.
  • Good written English.
  • Willingness to travel within Europe and, perhaps, beyond.

Nice to have:

  • Code contributed either to an open source project or running elsewhere in production.
  • Track record of developer community contributions, whether through code, content or something else.
  • An active tech blog and social media profile.
  • Located in Berlin or Switzerland.
  • French and/or German proficiency.
  • Previous public speaking experience.
