I know the job hunt can be stressful and difficult, I would love to have additional support. I am not always good at staying aware of all the things I should be doing or what should go into the process.
2. How will you hold yourself accountable to balancing time for your job search and following your mentor and group's advice?
I will make sure to be able to show some kind of action or completed activity since our prior discussions. I will make sure I have new applications in at least every 2 weeks (given wiggle room for time to reach out and meet with people).
3. What is the focus of your job search (timeline, ideal job, steps you’ve already taken)? Be as specific as you can.
The focus of my job search will be finding a hard working stimulating but also fun and supportive work environment in tech where I feel confident and motivated. I have already applied to some jobs, gotten a few rejections. I met with the CTO from Sondermind and I am anticipating to be contacted for a job posting they plan to post soon for a support engineer role. I am speaking with a contact from BNY this evening to discuss opportunities there, after being in touch with alumni recommended by Sal. I applied at Handshake where an alumni works and she said they could interview me sooner rather than later, so I said I would wait until mod 4, I just reached out letting her know I would be excited to interview soon. I met someone who works at Archer at a meetup, and applied to Archer with his recommendation. I have written cover letters for the jobs I have applied for and know that I will be updating my resume and portfolio soon.
