Verdigris is looking for the right machine learning heroes to help us build autonomous intelligence to fight climate change and electrical waste.
We send little gnomes out to watch all the electronics in our customer’s buildings and report back to their overlords when those appliances have problems or waste electricity... at least that is what our customers think. We actually build little intelligent machines to do that for us… but we do make them gnome-shaped to keep the ruse alive.
Nope. enter the power of machine learning. we just attach our machines to circuit panels right as they branch off in the building and our algorithms do the rest.
Our über-extraordinary algorithms listen carefully to the current being drawn by each circuit and can sift out the individual voices generated by the power draw of each appliance. This is also where you come in.
You sure do ask a lot of questions.

yes, my friend, yes you did... Did you think we were joking about the gnome shaped sensors? we believe truly driving the internet of things will involve the creation of said things.
What comes to mind when you think of a Silicon Valley startup founded by Stanford/CMU/Harvard alums based out of fabled NASA Research Park in Mountain View, working on an AI to change the world? google circa 1998? not quite.. we’re Verdigris circa 2014! We’ve taken great pains to define what we really value and we’ve codified it: we seek authentic feedback, we are uncomfortably transparent, we annoyingly question and prove all assumptions, we spend time creating scalable processes even when a one-time result might be easier, and although we believe we’re really smart we know that even smarter people are out there willing to help if we only we’d ask for it.
If you’re the type that wants the details and data, great you’ve come to the right place! Check out a sample of what our Trello boards look like here:
We need hardworking bright machine learning scientists, who aren’t afraid to tackle unknown challenges, are motivated by the difficulty of our mission and the magnitude of the problem we face, who in turn will challenge us, drive us to our highest and most creative levels, beat us at foosball, teach us how to mix their favorite drinks, share their favorite books, music, youtube clips, force expansion in our thinking, and take us to dizzying new heights in the world of Artificial Intelligence. And know where and how to properly use punctuation.
