Smuff Overview 2012 / September

Summary

Our revenue grew 50% mostly by better Google organic search, and partially for better Conversion Rate. The organic search growth is given automatically by the Smuff e-commerce engine with no costs and marketing. The Conversion Rate was grown by site redesidn / optimisation.

You cannot set quarterly business objectives since growth is only measurable on long term (half year / year).

Key findings

  1. Monthly Revenue rhymes mostly on Per Visit Value / Average Order Value and Conversion Rate

  2. Monthly Revenue does not rhyme with Number of Visits, Bounce Rate etc.. etc..

  3. Comparing to last year (Jan 01 - Aug 31) we grew 50% in Revenue. There were more Visitors (+45%) who spent less (-15% Average Order Value) but on a higher Conversion Rate (+17.5%)

Visitor Growth

  1. The biggest growth was bought by Google Organic Search (+86%, ~17,500 new visitors) and Facebook (+100%, ~2000 new visitors)
  2. In terms of Revenue, Organic visitors doubled their purchase power. In 2011 the 42% Organic Search brought 42,000 revenue, in 2012 the 49% brought 74,000.

Average Order Value Erosion

We've deliberately lowered the product prices. This decrease has nothing to do with other external factors.

Higher Conversion Rate

We've redesigned / simplified the site optimizing for speed and bounce rate since April 2012.
