How can I do the same on Wayland? I'm using RiverWM
x-device-input is a file unique for X11.
sudo vim /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/30-touchpad.conf
Check the riverwm configuration/documentation that they should have something there, but IMO, if you want to have no issues with Wayland you either leave it, or try it out Hyprland (I am not an "Wayland Hater" I daily drived for half-a-year)
coming back to this old gist to report to everyone that comes by with the same problem:
Wayland compositors have to implement this by themselves and River doesn't seem to support tablets and touchpads, not when I was using it anyways. But on Hyprland it works PERFECTLY and even has more advanced configuration 10/10
