This gist shows how to create a GIF screencast using only free OS X tools: QuickTime, ffmpeg, and gifsicle.
To capture the video (filesize: 19MB), using the free "QuickTime Player" application:
Each of these commands will run an ad hoc http static server in your current (or specified) directory, available at http://localhost:8000. Use this power wisely.
$ python -m SimpleHTTPServer 8000
var request = require('request');
var express = require('express');
var app = express(); | |
app.get('/goofy', function(req, res) {

}); | |
app.get('/loop', function(req, res) {
res.render('mypage'); |

We're currently using the Chicago Manual of Style. It's imperfect, but it's better than the alternatives, so far.
/* passable motion blur effect using frame blending
* basically move your 'draw()' into 'sample()', time runs from 0 to 1

int samplesPerFrame = 32; // more is better but slower. 32 is enough probably
int numFrames = 48; | |
float shutterAngle = 2.0; // this should be between 0 and 1 realistically. exaggerated for effect here
int[][] result; |
Say, you want to save your D3 application in a CouchDB database. This is just a proof of concept that this is possible. I use the »Focus + Context« diagram by Mike Bostock (http://bl.ocks.org/1667367) as an example.
