Ruby/Rails Web Developer

  • Optimized Travel+Leisure website codebase
  • Implemented action caching scheme that enabled the Travel+Leisure website to scale to from 30 to 1000 concurrent requests in the mid-tier web cluster
  • Created a resource-mocking gem that enables behavior driven development of a SOA application
  • Created several open-source Active-Resource enhancement gems to aid in SOA development

  • Customized LP’s websites with PHP4, HTML, CSS, most of which use the open-source php cms “ezPublish”
  • Engineered a linux load-balanced web cluster: primary and backup loadbalancers (haproxy), redundant apache2/php web nodes, and redundant MySQL and NFS servers

  • Developed numerous high-profile websites, including http://sandiego.org, http://visitdallas.com, and http://gohawaii.com
  • Lead developer, designed and developed PHP-5 MVC model-view-controller framework, complete with ORM framework, and HTML templating engine (we first implemented this for http://sandiego.org)
  • Created PHP5 database translation framework that helps programmers map and transform data from one database schema to another by defining mapping schemas in XML
