Dashing - "hotness number" widget

Dashing Hotness Number Widget

This widget is based on the standard Dashing Number widget and the Hotness Widget created by Rowanu.

What it does

With this widget, you can display the standard number widget with a color that will respond on the evolution (the difference displayed between last and current value that is displayed on the standard number widget)

It can be useful to display colors based on the evolution of the number widget : if increasing is "bad" then it will display red. If you refer to the thumbnail, you'll see an example of application around a server pool.

Dashing - "hotness list" widget

Dashing Hotness List Widget

This widget is based on the standard Dashing List widget and the Hotness Widget created by Rowanu.

What it does

With this widget, you can display a list that will change color depending on its content. It can be useful to display a set of metrics and use the color to materialize the "global state". If you refer to the thumbnail, you'll see an example of application around a server pool.

How to add to Dashing

Sonar Secured Widget for Dashing Framework

Preview

Screenshot

Description

Dashing widget to display Sonar metrics, connecting to either a secured or unsecured Sonar repository.

I created this widget after originally attempting to use EHadoux's simple Sonar widget, which did not allow access to my company's secured Sonar instance. Additionally, I implemented the ability to set up the widget using an external configuration file.

Please note that this is technically a job versus a widget, in that it periodically requests data from Sonar and pushes that to the list widget as the view.

a simple git branching model

a simple git branching model (written in 2013)

This is a very simple git workflow. It (and variants) is in use by many people. I settled on it after using it very effectively at Athena. GitHub does something similar; Zach Holman mentioned it in this talk.

Update: Woah, thanks for all the attention. Didn't expect this simple rant to get popular.

Multi-graph example widget for Shopify's Dashing dashboard

Multi-graph widget for Dashing

Description

Multi-graph widget for Shopify's dashing to display a comparison style graph (or stacked with a minor modification). Obviously, this is an example that is built heavily on the existing graph widget that is provided with dashing. This widget provides a more clear framework for expanding the graph for multiple series (or nodes) of data. After seeing the example code, it should be fairly easy to expand to 3 or more overlaid graphs (although colors might get tricky). And really, this is just a slightly greater use of the cool rickshaw graphs.

To use this widget:
