Convert latitude/longitude pair with radius in meters to 16 sided polygon useful in GIS. Useful for converting a Google maps drawing manager circle into a polygon for storage in a GIS system. Implemented as a class method.
def self.circle_path(center, radius, complete_path = false)
# For increased accuracy, if your data is in a localized area, add the elevation in meters to r_e below:

segments = 16
dRad = 2*Math::PI/segments
(segments + (complete_path ? 1 : 0)).times.map do |i|

SIMPL is a simple programming language for Arduino and clones, inspired by Ward Cunningham's Txtzyme. It borrows the "colon definition" from Forth and allows up to 26 new words to be defined. It also plays tunes
// SIMPL
// A Serial Interpreted Minimal Programming Language
// Inspired by Txtzyme - by Ward Cunningham
// SIMPL tries to take you back to an age of computing when things were simple
// So it compiles in under 6K - leaving lots of room for other stuff
// SIMPL allows new words to be defined by preceding them with colon : (Like Forth)

Make it real

Ideas are cheap. Make a prototype, sketch a CLI session, draw a wireframe. Discuss around concrete examples, not hand-waving abstractions. Don't say you did something, provide a URL that proves it.

Ship it

Nothing is real until it's being used by a real user. This doesn't mean you make a prototype in the morning and blog about it in the evening. It means you find one person you believe your product will help and try to get them to use it.

Do it with style
