It is a bad idea to leave the password in the config in plain-text.
Described below is a method to use a hash in place of the plain-text password as described above.
In bash, execute the below line-
echo -n plaintext_password_here | iconv -t utf16le | openssl md4(
UTF-16LEfor macOS)The password in the wpa_supplicant.conf file then needs to be set to-
password=hash:generated_hashIt would also be a nice idea to clear the bash history after you're done with the above.
