- Download the Consolas font from http://www.fontpalace.com/font-details/Consolas/
- Open Finder and navigate to
Downloads
directory - Double click the
Consolas.ttf
file - A dialog box appears displaying the details about the font
- Click
Install font
button
- Open IDEA Preferences Window (Press Command + ,)
- Editor > Colors & Fonts > Font
- Uncheck
Show only monospaced fonts
checkbox - Select the
Consolas
font from the font list
Thanks for this instruction for downloading & installing this font. However I'm missing the bold and italics variations.
I used https://ikato.com/blog/how-to-install-consolas-font-on-mac-os-x.html to mange this problem. unfortunately the download link PowerPointViewer.exe did not work anymore; so I googled on PowerPointViewer.exe and found a working version which I could use.
Disadvantage: this method uses homebrew (https://brew.sh/); But I can not image an developer MacOS without homebrew ;-)
