In case you use http over SSL, then your settings should be:

EMAIL_HOST = 'smtp.yandex.ru'
EMAIL_HOST_USER = '[email protected]'
EMAIL_HOST_PASSWORD = 'password'
EMAIL_PORT = 465
EMAIL_USE_TLS = False
EMAIL_USE_SSL = True

I used this settings and it worked. Thnx!
