Mulled Wine Recipe

Mulled Wine
8l of red wine (minimum 13% alcohol)
zest of 2 large oranges
1 clove-covered orange
500g demarara sugar
0.5l orange juice
0.33l gin
4 cinnamon sticks
1tsp ground cinnamon
Heat for 20 minutes, but do not allow to boil. Once the wine is hot, remove
it from the heat, cover and leave it overnight. The wine is ready to consume
the next morning.
Tip: buy screwtop bottles of wine; the next morning decant the wine from
the pot into the bottles, straining to remove the solids.
