I think your size calculation is off-by-one -- if bytes 0 thru 0 are requested, that's actually one byte, so you should use:
var chunksize = (end-start)+1;

How did you calculate the ranges from the client side? I mean from the client perspective you have a range value for
start
andend
expressed in seconds, you need a byte range. Shall I useffprobe
to get the audio filebit_rate
to do the maths?
