Mr Booth asked for a list of recommendations for things to do in Copenhagen. Here you go:

Things I like to do while visiting Copenhagen

  • Copenhagen Street Food: big indoor street food place in Paper Island. Tons of options, but the duck fat fries from Copper and Wheat are amazing.

  • Musiksmag: decent little cafe / bar / record shop in Nørrebro.

  • Ruby: great cocktail bar.

  • Kalaset: fun place for brunch. Close to:

  • Torvehallerne: pretty new food market - one side is a produce market, the other has stalls selling food, coffee, all sorts of great stuff to put in your face.

  • The Standard: four different things in one building. Good cocktails / jazz bar / amazing smørrebrød at Almanak.

  • Wulff & Konstali: decent brunch place

  • Taco's Chuco: usually at the Street Food market

  • Coffee Collective: 3 different locations, all are fantastic.

  • Mother: really, really good pizza. Gets crazy busy. In the meat-packing district, surrounded by loads of other great things to do.

  • Mikkeller: local brewery. Sold all over the place. Have a small, very busy bar in Viktoriagade that's unmissable.

  • War Pigs: amazing beer from Mikkeller, great BBQ. Unmissable for the food, let alone the beer.

  • Cock's and Cows: pretty awesome burgers, very chilled out.

  • Lagkagehuset: means "cake shop". They're everywhere, they're nothing like Gregg's. Great pastries. They do a cinnamon roll covered in chocolate called a Direktorsnegl which is more addictive than crack.

  • Lidkoeb: pretty small but cozy cocktail bar hidden in a courtyard behind a shopping centre in Vesterbrogade. Well worth a look.

Things to know.

It's super-easy to get everywhere. Hire a bike if you can't be arsed walking, but it's pretty well organised. Finding stuff to do is not hard at all. Everywhere is on Foursquare. Dane's speak better English than we do.

Follow Mad About Copenhagen: they link to everything great that's happening in the food and drink scene. Add them on Instagram and you'll find out about all the new stuff that's opening.

Go. Get drunk with the locals. Enjoy yourself!
