Welcome to Vibe Chess. We are committed to protecting your privacy and ensuring transparency in how we handle data. This Privacy Policy explains our data practices when you use the Vibe Chess browser extension.
Vibe Chess is designed to analyze chess games on chess.com. To provide real-time engine analysis, the extension reads the current state of the chess board—specifically, the position of the pieces, formatted as a FEN (Forsyth-Edwards Notation) string—from your active webpage.
This board state data is transmitted securely to our external AI engine server to calculate the best moves, identify key threats, and generate counter-moves.
Vibe Chess does not collect, store, or transmit any Personally Identifiable Information (PII).
We do not track, collect, or monitor:
- Your name or email address
- Your IP address
- Your browsing history (outside of the active chess.com game)
- Your chess.com account credentials or rating
- Any other personal or financial data
The board state data (FEN strings) sent to our Stockfish server is processed strictly in real-time. The data is discarded immediately after the evaluation is returned to your browser. We do not maintain databases, cache evaluations, or keep historical logs of your games or positions.
The extension communicates exclusively with our dedicated Stockfish API backend.
- No data is shared with third-party advertisers.
- No data is sold or transferred to analytics companies.
- No trackers or telemetry scripts are included in the extension.
By installing and using the Vibe Chess extension, you consent to the real-time processing of chess.com board states as described in this policy. If you do not agree with this policy, you may disable or uninstall the extension at any time.
