Go to:

Grab version 4.1.6 of the mod.

Put it in libraries\net\minecraftxray\xray\4.1.6\xray-4.1.6.jar

Put the above in $yourinstance\patches\net.minecraftxray.json

Reload instance and play.

Alternatively, if you have Forge, you can just add the mod as a normal forge mod to the mods folder.

If you want other versions of the mod, change the version numbers in the json and the library path you use.
