LastFM : a Redux

LAST FM Cleanup

Last is an illiterate mess, partially their fault mostly mine its a cut and past snippet of voice transcribe random thoguhts, 80% not looking at a screen even right now, its a mess. trying to clean it up

Just a Music Lover. Currently of the opinion that people just suck. Partners betray, friends fail, and god died a long time ago. But, Rock n Roll is not quite dead yet. So I'm sticking around until then at least.

####Current thoughts: At times When life is increasingly hopeless and hopelessly complicated the simplicity bordering on stupidity of simple 3 chord classic punk like the Misfits and the sweetness of something like Sam Cooke is especially soothing.

BTW I almost never listen to music sadly, the cpu clock cycles and whatever brain cells I can muster is better spent breaking free of an impossible situation thats bonded and enslaved me. Lovely right? If ever I do my favorites, while a mood thing, right now motown, sam cooke, sould in gneral but a little 50's early sixties, definitely the 67-70 shit, Sly, Martha, Dianna, Marvin, Ann Peeble down south oh yeah, all that. At the same time but up through a few months ago Digging Misfits, Iggy Pop, Them, The Heavy, Rolling Stones always , and some Buzzcocks. I wish my pithos feed scrobble was connecting, don't have time to to fix it shame....always something stopping me from really using last fm

####December 2014: I feel like the only one fucking depressed about bobby keys... the stones can pick up that ernie watts fellow maybe? drop the brass section altogether? too bad nicky hopkins isnt around he was such a great piano player, and rocky dijon that jammin bongo player back in '68 he used to get down and add some great texture.

Fuck it back to this beyond words tron soundtrack. it took aggregating months of DMCA complaints to find the expanded version in a solid FLAC done right. I'm so glad Warner and Microsoft and GE all spent millions filing literally millions of complaints a year, I really could not realistically find the time to centralize a databank of recent URL's that span google's billion+ site index, so thanks for doing that its really been a big help haha!

Favorites are a mood thing, right now I like everything but hip hop and country for the most part, there are almost always exceptions.

Digging Misfits, Iggy Pop, Them, The Heavy, Rolling Stones always , and some Buzzcocks wish my pithos feed scrobble was connecting, don't have time to to fix it shame....

quick reminder r&B=roots and blues, keep that in mind as with anything I say its most current connotation is misapplied. or should I say for my entire life span it has not been how to identify except in the most general of ways what I do like and has generally meant something I don't. if something is labeled R&B and its pre say 1975 I might really dig it, if its post 73 even not really going to make a fan out of me. an dif its 68 to 72 then hey we can get along fantastic

Soul and Motown I'm real big on and so rarely hear something new especially because I don't think near anything post the passing of Sam and Otis really counts. Certainly its over by the 80's whenever Stevie is wearing those awful wide glasses singing At&T commercials and fucking off with Paul Mccartney, yeah stick a knife in it before luther vandross and his goddamn sweaters show up jesus

There is the occasional exception though Keith's Hate it when you Leave for example Im being reintroduced to. I think. Bad example as yeah I know but actually in jamaica at least he really is considered honorary black. Thats how tired and dry the market is I'm thinking of white people doing r&b! Look theres always some gems, but just none of that Issac and Barry White "...lay you down by the fire..." shit. And for fuck sake keep that boyz to men shit far away its even worse then southern illiterate hip hop with fronts duetting with rihanna? dont start me on her. I don't like anything any of its based on, or grown to be, and whatever it turns into. You get what I'm saying here? I'm saying black music is fucking dead and gone to me. I like Muddy, I like the wolf, I like Sly, old Stevie, Sam and Dave, fucking Sam Cook, Otis, Son House, I can write 50 alone off the top of my head but my point would not change.

Heres an example, Marvin. I fucking love Marvin who doesnt? but his 50's is kinda silly Pat Boone shit, catchy though. his 60's goes from pop R&B through to the damn near dark side of the moon a'la motown records, What's Going On. Shit I've bought that 3 times at least, and I have a bootleg in the mail of some possibly insane shit from 68 but, by the time he did that sexual healing garbage what cna i say he transitioned across race religion color geography and cultural barriers bigger than all that in surviving as a superstar into 2 decades, and thats if you dont count the 80's. but you know what? i gotta count the 80's because whatever year that drivel came out was around then and its never gotten any better. just because lionel richard and billy ocean arent making records any more doesn tmean things are better, at best they flatlined on the table for 30 years.

Solomon Burke is getting rather old so is Mick, and Buddy but " all good things ..." right? Yeah I know. How's this then Alicia Keys (just minus her lay you down by the fire shit too or her duets, but KEEP her duet with Jack White as its a convergence of style and influence that both respective genre's need especially Hip Hop to whom its also a destined to be ignored reminder of what it could be in contrast to the tired ass duets polluting song charts are: a disgustingly transparent marketing initiative so far removed from anything artistic.

Cee-Lo and Dangermouse. Yup good shit. That Danish Festival 2009 performance is mind blowing dripping talent and creativity I love that fat mother fucker and the mouse. Oh yeah the mouse gets his own entry on this little list too, well earned Thats the Dangerous one, not the Modest one. Pharell fo 'sho and lets close it out with Gary Clark Jr. God how long overdo he is.

Who'd have Dangermouse and Cee-Lo would be influencing and introducing me to my first Radiohead album?

Thats one end of R&B Fuckin Dangermouse, dude is genius.

I dont like fronts, I dont like 95% of hip hop, I dont mix well with R&b and for Pop music apply all these remarks to white people for example change rhianna to katy pery, and lil dre dog whoever the fuck with little bieber, and you get why I dont like pop either.

Here's my point none of it feels real and even merits me looking while typing. they didnt put any care into being genuine or interesting so im not putting any at the moment into a spell check much less look while I type. Life is short, and gets shorter. what matters becomes increasingly important as we inevitably grow to that conclusion, I dont have time for fake, no patience for what isnt genuine and interesting. I just dont

#Rock and Roll its is not quite dead yet

People born, people died, things got better, things got worse, earth is still turning and the clock last I checked, yup, it's still ticking. But Rock n Roll, is not quite dead yet. That fellow from Kiss may differ I don't know much about that though I don't follow him I'm more of a Rock n Roll fan so I never really cared for KISS

Rock n Roll is representative of everything free and good, plus most things that are bad and its still available for many countries starting at only $9.99 from UMG in non-lossless mp3 and m4a at whoever-the-fuck.com

But then what is rebellion and revolution for without an evil tyrannical opposition? And so everything in its place. Remember Alan Freed, its always been a racket. But good art fights its way through. And what brings the biggest smile if ever I can muster one is that one period when music changed hands nearly, into that of the artists. Creativity actually came out of the creatives, how novel eh? This explosion, beginning with Chuck Berry exploded through the course of the turbulent 1960's in America and Western Europe, and as far as it could reach. Then got fat and lazy, and with a girdle hairy chest and bell bottoms had a bit of a rut, then Punk drowned it out, then I think the solve bunny by andy warhol says all you need know about the next decade, then kurt cobain and all that jazz and then holy fuck, have you heard jack white?

Then blah blah blah then holy fuck again, The Rolling Stones are fucking ill live, still! [ 'ill' can be a good thing, see American Slang usage

Then holy fuck, possibly going to, for the first time, not invent from the ground up what a tour is, and then demonstrate by outselling everything by a landslide. Sad I know, its only been 50 years, wtf? But if its any consolation they still play like they did in that 2002 tour and HBO show with few differences, and thats good. What? You want Brussels 73 or something? Hartford or Phoenix 81? Yeah right fuck off! Obvisouly ain't going to happen, but this is the closest we can get and it will have a likely Mick Taylor addition that after 2-3 years is still sinking in with me at least, (CYHMK+Sway@ LA), brings a smile every now and then.

If adding in 1936 -1958 and filling in some blanks there's your history of what I think matters. And a good history of Rock n Roll too!

I don't like mp3 streaming services, and the only exception is pithos in linux and then i cant always be connected or auth'd to last fm. i need better quality and i need some care put into selections. so either my library or for dj auto mode pandora is unbeatable. but i would like to scrobble too. Out of desperation I made a sort of scrob-let? in bash last week, I think for audacious or really anything console since browser ones only help people who listen through a browser, but I'm not sure how my own connects I should take notes next time I am talking to myself!
