Setup the CouchDB container on Synology

Pre-requisites

  1. Create a directory for your Docker data (e.g. /volume1/docker/obsidian-couchdb)
  2. Create a user with permissions to that directory - put them in the users group

Clash as transparent proxy gateway via TPROXY

Notes

  1. If your local network use public IP ranges instead of private ones, make sure to add respecive RETURN rules to iptables to prevent looping issue
  2. Set clash as DHCP's only DNS server to allow domain-based filter (shunting) rules work
  3. Use lsof -i udp:53 to check if clash's DNS module work fine, otherwise you may have to kill systemd-resolved and any other processes occupying the UDP 53 port
  4. The given scripts will NOT hangle the traffic of gateway itself since it is not recommend to do so. If you want to redirect the egress traffic of the gateway, the following material may be useful

Install an old version with homebrew for macOS
  1. Find the formula for the version you want to install:

    • Visit https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/tree/master/Formula
    • Click the file with your formula (e.g. “composer.rb”)
    • Click “History” (top right)
    • Click the commit hash for the version you want to download
    • Click the three dots (top right of diff) and choose “view file”
    • Click “Raw” and copy the raw URL from the browser address bar.

For example, composer 1.10.15 lives here: https://github.com/Homebrew/homebrew-core/blob/9e6e6a1ca8551901bff69d329c7fbb9007064134/Formula/composer.rb

How to restart all pods in a statefulset or deployment

Various ways to restart pods

Restart deployment

The most gracefull way is to trigger a restart for the deployment. In this case, a pod will only be terminated once the new pod is ready. It will slowly replace all pods one after the other.

kubectl rollout restart deployment <deployment-name>
