Set up Maschine MK3 Transport Controls for Ableton Live

Configure Controller Editor Templates

  1. Launch Controller Editor.app
  2. Under the Templates pane on the right-hand-side:
    1. Click the Factory Templates dropdown
    2. Select Mackie Control
    3. Double-check that it’s highlighted in the Templates list
  3. Close Controller Editor.app

Configure Ableton Live

  1. Launch Ableton Live
  2. Open Settings → Link, Tempo & Midi
  3. Add a new Control Surface:
Control Surface Input Output
MackieControl Maschine MK3 Virtual Input Maschine MK3 Virtual Output
  1. Configure the MackieControl Input (Maschine MK3 Virtual Input) Input Port:
Input Ports Track Sync Remote MPE
MackieControl Input (Maschine MK3 Virtual Input) ✓ ✓
  1. Configure the MackieControl Output (Maschine MK3 Virtual Output) Output Port:
Output Ports Track Sync Remote
MackieControl Input (Maschine MK3 Virtual Output) ✓ ✓
