NGINX tuning for best performance

NGINX Tuning For Best Performance

For this configuration you can use web server you like, i decided, because i work mostly with it to use nginx.

Generally, properly configured nginx can handle up to 400K to 500K requests per second (clustered), most what i saw is 50K to 80K (non-clustered) requests per second and 30% CPU load, course, this was 2 x Intel Xeon with HyperThreading enabled, but it can work without problem on slower machines.

You must understand that this config is used in testing environment and not in production so you will need to find a way to implement most of those features best possible for your servers.

Xamarin Reduce App Size
* Reducing executable size:
http://developer.xamarin.com/guides/cross-platform/deployment,_testing,_and_metrics/memory_perf_best_practices/#Reducing_Executable_Size
* Use the linker (iOS [1], Android [2]) to remove unnecessary code from your assemblies
[1] https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/ios/advanced_topics/linker
[2] https://developer.xamarin.com/guides/android/advanced_topics/linking
* Reference third-party libraries judiciously
* Applying constraints to generics may reduce app size, since less code would need to be included (haven’t verified this)

Swift method to check for a valid email address (uses Apples data detector instead of a regex)
extension String {
func isValidEmail() -> Bool {
guard !self.lowercaseString.hasPrefix("mailto:") else { return false }
guard let emailDetector = try? NSDataDetector(types: NSTextCheckingType.Link.rawValue) else { return false }
let matches = emailDetector.matchesInString(self, options: NSMatchingOptions.Anchored, range: NSRange(location: 0, length: self.characters.count))
guard matches.count == 1 else { return false }
return matches[0].URL?.scheme == "mailto"
}
}

Using iOS 15 devices with Xcode 12.5 (instead of Xcode 13)
# The trick is to link the DeviceSupport folder from the beta to the stable version.
# sudo needed if you run the Mac App Store version. Always download the dmg instead... you'll thank me later :)
# Support iOS 15 devices (Xcode 13.0) with Xcode 12.5:
sudo ln -s /Applications/Xcode-beta.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport/15.0 /Applications/Xcode.app/Contents/Developer/Platforms/iPhoneOS.platform/DeviceSupport
# Then restart Xcode and reconnect your devices. You will need to do that for every beta of future iOS versions
# (A similar approach works for older versions too, just change the version number after DeviceSupport)

// Swift's untyped errors are a goddam PiTA. Here's the pattern I use to try to work around this.
// The goal is basically to try to guarantee that every throwing function in the app throws an
// ApplicationError instead of some unknown error type. We can't actually enforce this statically
// But by following this convention we can simplify error handling
enum ApplicationError: Error, CustomStringConvertible {
// These are application-specific errors that may need special treatment
case specificError1
case specificError2(SomeType)
