Delimiter on cs:layout in cs:citation only?

What does "delimiter" on cs:citation ... mean?
Seems to me there are effectively two delimiters:
one for the citation (author) group, and one of the item. So how do we
distinguish them? | |

The delimiter on cs:layout in cs:citation specifies how multiple items in a citation cluster should be separated. E.g. in APA (http://www.zotero.org/styles/apa):
<layout prefix="(" suffix=")" delimiter="; ">
results in (Abe, 1962; Asimov, n.d.)
Could you give an example of each delimiter though? I'm having difficulty seeing which are the two options you have in mind.

I'm not sure this is possible in CSL 1.0, assuming "; " is the delimiter between non-collapsed cites*. Frank? I don't know if this way of punctuating cites makes sense though.
* As in (Doe, 1999, 2000; Smith, 2003; Thomson, 1992)

Apparently we don't cover this yet. If with a comma after 2003, we do.

So perhaps we need "year-delimiter". But my suggestion would be to only introduce it when somebody starts complaining. It should be an easy fix, but maybe not a necessary one.

Sounds like a good plan.
