Advent of Code is a coding contest that takes place December 1st to 25th every year. Everyday a new puzzle is posted to the site. The puzzles form a larger story that is Christmas/Holiday themed. There is a global leaderboard which is pretty competitive. They also allow users to create private leaderboards that smaller groups of participants can use to compete with each other.
Advent of Code is, for some, a good opportunity for programmers to try out languages/coding styles/techniques that they do not normally use in their day to day work.
- Create a private leaderboard for participants using Racket.
- Create Slack and Discord channels to field questions and support participants in the contest.
- Encourage participants to share their solutions on code sharing websites.
- Award a prize for leaderboard winner OR at least proclaim official bragging rights.
Maybe come up with some standard copy to reuse on these different platforms
