Make Ubuntu packages 90% faster by rebuilding them

Make Ubuntu packages 90% faster by rebuilding them

TL;DR

You can take the same source code package that Ubuntu uses to build jq, compile it again, and realize 90% better performance.

Setting

I use jq for processing GeoJSON files and other open data offered in JSON format. Today I am working with a 500MB GeoJSON file that contains the Alameda County Assessor's parcel map. I want to run a query that prints the city for every parcel worth more than a threshold amount. The program is

Removes all Amazon saved for later items on the cart page. It will only remove visible items. You might want to scroll first to make more items visible. To use paste code in developer console (Ctrl+Shift+J or Cmd+Opt+J in Chrome) then press enter.
function deleteSavedItems() {
var query = document.querySelectorAll("#sc-saved-cart input[value=Delete]")
if (query.length) {
query[0].click();
}
if (query.length > 1) {
setTimeout(deleteSavedItems,100);
}
else {
console.log('Finished');

# Hello, and welcome to makefile basics.
#
# You will learn why `make` is so great, and why, despite its "weird" syntax,
# it is actually a highly expressive, efficient, and powerful way to build
# programs.

# Once you're done here, go to

# to learn SOOOO much more.
