5 tips for Californians visiting Austin for the first time for SXSW

1) Take off your badge when not at the conference, the locals are not impressed (even
   Platinum badges, in fact, especially Platinum badges)

2) Don't lecture us about how wonderful your local Whole Foods is, I can assure you
   its not as good as our local Whole Foods

3) Don't think we're all Republicans

4) Don't think that we'll like you bashing Texas just because we aren't Republicans,
   we like Texas, that is why we live here.

5) Get out of downtown Austin for a bit if you can, I recommend:

   - The Oasis : TexMex is ok, but the view will blow your socks off
   - Spider House : A quintessentially Austin coffee shop / bar
   - Fredricksburg : A beautiful town about 80 minutes drive West of Austin
   - Barton Springs : An outdoor swimming spot close to downtown, great for cooling off
