Chicken Scratch / The Foundry - Lunch time huge chicken biscuit sandwiches. Bacon is awesome too! I think they have dinner food but only been for lunch.

Il Cane Rosso - Great pizza; the smore dessert calzone is yummy; This place is in Deep Ellum which apparently has a good night life scene which I have yet to experience. Seemed a little sketch when I was there. :)

Twisted Root Burger - lots of different meat choices for your burger including goat and beaver. I had camel when I went. Also very tasty milkshakes with hard alcohol shots! Also in Deep Ellum across street from pizza place above.

Del Frisco Grille - This is a chain but they have a killer steak salad. In Uptown, which has a lot of cool restaurants on McKinney and a free trolley that runs up there.

Eatzis - Great little market with lots of pre-made food selection, and make your own salad, sammys, etc. Good to pick up food to go. Nice wine selection too! Don't mind annoying music on their website. Couple different locations but would need to drive from downtown.

That should cover you in the short term. I have found some really good Dallas food. Oh man, there is a great taco place too (Torchy's Tacos). Ok, I guess I could go on and on!
