To support this mission, OSIT has embarked on a multi-year modernization journey, within which the AWS Cloud Software Engineer will play a key role: working to design, develop, test and monitor scalable and secure cloud-based applications and services using Amazon Web Services (AWS). | |
Responsibilities: | |
• Lead the design, development, and deployment of a scalable and secure Amazon ChimeSDK solution. | |
• Design and implement solutions supporting services using AWS that meet business requirements and industry best practices. | |
• Mentor and guide junior engineers, providing technical leadership and fostering a collaborative environment. | |
• Monitor and optimize cloud infrastructure for performance, cost, and security. | |
• Troubleshoot complex issues in development, test, and production environments. | |
• Stay current with the latest AWS services, tools, and industry trends to drive continuous improvement. | |
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define project requirements and deliver high-quality solutions. | |
• E2E ownership from intake and refinement to deployment of production applications as well as monitoring and support | |
JOB QUALIFICATIONS | |
Required: | |
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology or Computer Engineering or related field or related field or 4 years’ relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. | |
• 5+ years’ experience in: | |
• Full lifecycle of software development projects in an agile environment. | |
• Proficient in Amazon Web Services (AWS) | |
• ChimeSDK | |
• EC2, ECS, Lambda, API Gateway | |
• S3, DynamoDB | |
• IAM, Cognito | |
• CloudWatch | |
• Proficient in at least two programming and scripting languages such as Python, Java, C#, React, JavaScript | |
• Proficient in developing Infrastructure as Code with Terraform | |
• Experience with containerization and orchestration tools like Docker and Kubernetes. | |
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices. | |
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail. | |
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. | |
Preferred: | |
• Experience with cloud infrastructure, automated provisioning and configuration management | |
• Experience with networking and internet protocols | |
• Experience with logging, monitoring, and observability tools | |
• Experience with application containerization, deployment, and orchestration across environments | |
• Experience with CI/CD and test automation | |
• Experience with Agile Scrum and/or Less Framework | |
• Basic understanding of Event Driven Architecture | |
• Basic understanding of security best practices and compliance requirements. | |
• Basic understanding of HIPAA, PHI, PII | |
• Basic understanding of ServiceNow incident management intake flow | |
• Knowledge of Encryption, Public Key Infrastructure (PKI), understanding of OWASP | |
• Knowledge of Domain Driven Design | |
Conditions: | |
This position will support Optum Serve’s performance of a United States (U.S.) Government contract and will require the successful applicant to access and/or process Non-Critical Sensitive information (Personally Identifiable Information [PII]/Protected Health Information [PHI]) from or contained in a U.S. Government IT system. | |
To fulfill the data and IT system access requirements for this position, the successful applicant will be required to successfully complete a Trustworthy Determination, which will require the successful applicant to: 1) be a U.S. citizen 2) pass a National Agency Check with law enforcement in order to obtain the access privileges required by the position, 3) pass a Credit Check in order to obtain the access privileges required by the position. | |
