Accountability Group DTR

Template

Group Members: John T., Allison W., Raisa P., Scott E.

Schedule for weekly meetings and regular Stand Ups (must have 1 weekly meeting and at least 2 Stand Ups a week): Be prepared to come up with 2-3 different times in case groups overlap so that Tracey can meet with all groups.

1 weekly meeting:

  • 1pm, Monday's, Turing (somewhere)

Stand up's

  • Wednesday, Friday on slack.

Technical Section

  • What do we want to work on together for technical practice? Suggestions: group code challenges/project work/code reviews:
  • Allison: Resolve open issues on old projects
  • Raisa: Side project work, code review
  • Scott: Side project work
  • John: Code Challenges, project together
  • How we will hold each other accountable to this technical work:
  • Share technical portion at each weekly meeting
  • Set goals for the next week
  • Agenda for each meeting with questions to answer

Strengths & Supports

  • Group member strengths for supporting each other in the job search (what can we each help our group with?):
  • John: Logic problems, breaking them down.
  • Allison: Strong Listener, meet up and do non job search stuff.
  • Scott: Behavioral interviews.
  • Raisa: Code challenges.
  • What does everyone need in terms of self-care and support:

    • Systems, people, activities for mental health support: Check back in on this later
    • Systems, people, activities for physical health support: Same as above YOGA
    • How we will hold each other accountable to using these supports: Use the agenda to check in on mental health, physical heath, interviews (pre-written check in questions), celebrating wins

Meeting Structure

  • Group meeting structures (what will we work on/discuss during group meetings?):

  • Rotating leaders for the meeting.
  • Check in on current jobs and status of applications
  • Check in on future prospects

Suggestions: Finding jobs/companies, working on cover letters, finding company contacts, creating messages, finding contact info, etc.

  • How we will communicate if someone needs to miss a meeting:
  • Slack, group text
  • Stand Up discussions (what specific questions will we use in our Stand Ups twice a week?):
    • Stand Up #1:
    • Any specific requests for help
    • Whats current application are you working on
    • counts of rejections, applications, etc
    • Stand Up #2:
    • Final reflection on the week, assess your process, goals for monday

Agenda for meeting #1 (this should happen during the intermission week after graduation):

  • Monday, 1pm create the calendar and show it off by this time.
  • Create a calendar. Each group member should create a schedule for when they will be doing the following activities each day:
    • Coding/technical work
    • Company research
    • Outreach emails/respond to emails
    • Coffee meetings/phone calls
    • Meetups
    • Applications (cover letters, resume)
    • Wellness activities and other life stuff
    • Group meetings and stand ups
  • Meeting topics: How was your break, where ya at with the above items.
  • Action steps for each group member: Create Calendar, Polish portfolio
