We collect product-usage information such as:

  • app opens;

  • upload and analysis events;
  • report and settings views;
  • subscription/paywall-related events; and

F. Purchase and subscription information

If you interact with subscriptions or restore purchases, Apple and our paywall vendor provide status information necessary to manage access to paid features. We do not receive your full payment card number through the app.

G. Local and iCloud-synced app data

We maintain an analyzed-video count for app functionality and abuse prevention using local device storage and Apple's iCloud key-value sync.

3. How We Collect Information

We collect information:

  • directly from you when you upload a video, submit a YouTube URL, enter onboarding/profile details, enable notifications, or contact support;
  • automatically from your device and app session through analytics, subscription, and notification SDKs; and
  • from service providers that support authentication, hosting, analytics, messaging, paywalls, subscriptions, and AI-based analysis.

4. How We Use Information

We use information to:

  • authenticate you and maintain your app session;
  • store your profile and preferences;
  • receive, process, and analyze videos or YouTube links you submit;
  • generate analysis reports and show job progress/history;

  • understand app usage, performance, and product issues;
  • detect misuse, fraud, abuse, and reliability issues;
  • comply with legal obligations and enforce our terms; and
  • respond to support, privacy-rights, and other customer-service requests.

5. What We Share and Where It Goes

We disclose information to the following categories of service providers and platforms as part of operating the Services.

  • to protect the rights, safety, security, and property of Shakd, our users, or others;
  • in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, reorganization, bankruptcy, or sale of assets; or
  • with your direction or consent.

6. SDK- and Vendor-Specific Notes

Firebase

We use Firebase Authentication for anonymous sign-in, Firebase Realtime Database for profile/job data, Firebase Storage for uploaded videos and thumbnails, and Firebase Cloud Messaging for push notifications.

Google GenAI / Gemini

If you request an analysis, the content you submit for analysis is processed through our backend and sent to Google's GenAI / Gemini services so we can generate the requested output.

Mixpanel

We use Mixpanel for product analytics. Mixpanel receives event data we choose to send from the app.

Superwall

We use Superwall for paywall and subscription-related experiences. Superwall may receive identifiers and app event context needed to show and manage paywalls.

UXCam

We use UXCam for session analytics and diagnostics. The app configures UXCam with text-field occlusion, and UXCam is activated in the app after a user profile is available. Even with these controls, session analytics tools may capture activity on app screens, so you should avoid submitting content you do not want processed through the Services.

7. Permissions and Data We Do Not Intentionally Collect

The app currently requests access to your photo library so you can choose videos for upload.

Based on the current app implementation, the app does not request:

  • contacts access;
  • precise location access;
  • microphone access;
  • camera access;
  • health data access; or
  • calendar access.

8. Retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, including to provide the Services, maintain records, detect abuse, resolve disputes, and comply with legal obligations.

Retention can vary by data type:

  • uploaded videos, generated thumbnails, and job history are kept until deleted by you or removed under our retention practices;
  • profile data remains associated with your app account unless changed or deleted;
  • analytics, session, and system logs may be retained according to vendor and operational retention settings;
  • notification-token records may be removed when tokens become invalid or when you disable notifications; and
  • some limited records may be retained for security, fraud prevention, legal compliance, debugging, or abuse-prevention purposes even after a deletion request.

9. Your Choices and Privacy Rights

In-app controls

The app currently provides:

  • a "Delete My Data" flow that deletes uploaded videos and analysis history; and
  • a sign-out/reset flow that resets the anonymous app account session.

At this time, the in-app "Delete My Data" flow does not necessarily remove all data associated with your use of the Services. For example, the app currently preserves an analyzed-video count used for abuse prevention in local/iCloud-backed storage, and some records may remain if needed for operational, security, or legal reasons.

Email requests

To request access, correction, deletion, or information about your personal information, email:

support@shakd.io

Please include enough detail for us to locate your records, such as the app user ID if available. We may take reasonable steps to verify your identity before fulfilling a request. Authorized agents may submit requests on your behalf where permitted by law, subject to verification and authorization requirements.

Push notifications

You can enable or disable push notifications in your device settings.

10. U.S. State Privacy Disclosures

This section provides additional disclosures for residents of U.S. states with privacy laws that may apply, including California and other states with comprehensive privacy statutes.

Categories of personal information we collect

Depending on your use of the Services, we may collect the following categories:

  • identifiers;
  • internet or other electronic network activity information;
  • commercial information related to subscriptions;
  • user-generated content and other electronic information;
  • inferences drawn from your submitted content and profile inputs;
  • approximate device or app diagnostic information; and
  • other information you choose to provide to us.

Sources

We collect personal information:

  • from you directly;
  • from your device and app activity;
  • from our processors and infrastructure providers; and
  • from Apple and other service providers involved in subscription and notification flows.

Purposes

We collect and use personal information for the business and commercial purposes described in Section 4 of this Privacy Policy.

Disclosure

We disclose the categories of personal information described above to the categories of recipients described in Section 5.

Sales, sharing, and targeted advertising

Based on the current implementation of the Services as of May 12, 2026, we do not sell personal information for money. We also do not use the app to share personal information for cross-context behavioral advertising as those terms are commonly used in state privacy laws.

If our practices materially change, we will update this Privacy Policy.

Sensitive information

Some information you submit, including video content and text you provide about your content, may be considered sensitive depending on what you choose to include. Please do not submit sensitive personal information unless you intentionally want it processed through the Services for analysis.

We do not use sensitive personal information to infer characteristics for purposes other than providing the Services and related internal operations, subject to applicable law.

State privacy rights

Depending on your state of residence and subject to applicable exceptions, you may have the right to:

  • know whether we process your personal information;
  • access personal information we hold about you;
  • correct inaccuracies in your personal information;
  • delete personal information;
  • obtain a portable copy of certain personal information;
  • opt out of certain profiling or targeted-advertising activities, if applicable; and
  • appeal a denial of your request.

To exercise applicable rights, email support@shakd.io.

If we deny your request, you may appeal by replying to the denial email and stating that you want to appeal the decision.

California Shine the Light

California residents may also contact us at support@shakd.io for information about certain disclosures of personal information to third parties for their direct marketing purposes, if applicable. Based on the current app implementation described in this policy, we do not believe we disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes through the app.

11. Security

We use administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

12. International Use

The Services are operated from the United States and may be processed in the United States or other jurisdictions where our service providers operate. If you use the Services from outside the United States, you understand that your information may be transferred to and processed in the United States.

13. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version on this page and update the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the Services after an update becomes effective means the updated Privacy Policy will apply going forward.
