Following are the categories and problem statements under those respective categories. Team can pick up any one of those problem statement and build the solution using their ideas. We have also suggested certain tools and platform you can use to build those solutions, you are free to choose any of them or anything else you feel suitable, but do not forget to integrate Microsoft platform services in your solutions.

  1. Dynamic Teaching-learning tools to make learning more interesting for students and for teachers to identify gaps and improve methods of teaching.

  2. Marketplace and payment gateway solution to provide easy purchase of products related to academia, transfer of funds and fee to school directly. Vendors can customize products as per school and ward's requirement and sell it on school specific portal.

  3. Mobile application that underpins education information system data entry (smart phone based) at school level feeding data to EMIS (useful for routine monitoring at school level or local education office level).   1. Build Games for Universal Windows Platform utilizing the powerful Xbox platform over Desktop and Mobile. Games should be rich and interactive and should induce learning among audience of all age groups.

Governance

  1. Applications and communication tools for governments to provide information locally and in a timely manner. The kind of information depends on country context but will include information about police/crime, licensing, key events etc.

  2. An application that allows citizens to file applications for permits and other government documents online. This is important for citizens who own a small or medium business because their businesses are all dependent on such documents.

  3. An application that allows citizens to request and register for any government information (Some information such as land registration information, law information, etc will automatically be made available by law without a need for any request. Other information will only be provided by request (e.g. company ownership etc).

  4. Application that allows mobile registration of children (newly born and late registration) with data uploaded immediately into the government database and system. Application should include use of mobile phone to monitor the status of document application.

Application that uses social media to share and generate knowledge – such as times and locations of stakeholder meetings; to include the capability of sending/sharing complex messages (incl. graphics, charts, etc) in simple ways Ensure the poor and vulnerable are included. By making information available through cell phones etc ensure all groups can be informed – for poorest may need to identify a representative.

  1. Create and organize mobile workspaces for teams to interact and share content on the go. The solutions should adhere to enterprise security standards and should be compatible to existing solutions companies use.
