Campus Net ("we", "us", or "our") is a social platform for university communities. This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, how we use it, and your rights as a user.
By using Campus Net, you agree to the practices described in this policy.
- Email address (used for authentication)
- Username and display name
- University affiliation
- Profile avatar (optional, chosen from preset categories)
- Posts and poll questions you publish
- Comments and replies you write
- Poll votes and post likes/reactions
- Reports you submit on content
- Expo push notification token (stored to deliver in-app notifications to your device)
- Timestamps of interactions (post creation, likes, comments) used for trending calculations — this data is not shared with third parties

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with third parties beyond the services listed in Section 4.
We use Supabase as our backend database and authentication provider. Your data is stored on Supabase infrastructure hosted on AWS (us-east-1, Virginia, USA). Supabase's privacy policy is available at https://supabase.com/privacy.
We use Expo to deliver push notifications via Apple Push Notification Service (APNs) and Google Firebase Cloud Messaging (FCM). Your push token is sent to Expo's notification service only when a notification needs to be delivered. Expo's privacy policy is available at https://expo.dev/privacy.
Push notifications on iOS are routed through Apple's APNs, and on Android through Google's FCM. These services process your device token to deliver notifications. Their respective privacy policies apply.
- Your profile, posts, comments, and interactions are retained for as long as your account is active.
- When you delete your account (available in Settings → Delete Account), your profile is soft-deleted immediately and fully purged from our systems within 30 days.
- Content you posted (posts, comments, poll votes) is anonymised or removed as part of the account deletion process.
You have the right to:
- Access — request a summary of the personal data we hold about you
- Deletion — delete your account at any time via Settings → Delete Account, or email us at campusnet@proton.me
- Correction — update your username or avatar at any time within the app

Campus Net is intended for university students and is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
We implement industry-standard security measures including:
- Encrypted data transmission (HTTPS/TLS)
- Row-level security (RLS) on all database tables — users can only access data they are authorised to see
- Supabase-managed authentication with secure session tokens
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will update the Effective date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
