Since recently I struggled with:
$ urxvt
urxvt: can't initialize pseudo-tty, aborting.
$ sudo mount -a
mount: none is already mounted or /dev/pts busy
After some search, i found:

It turned out that I had to remove the following line from /etc/fstab:
none /dev/pts devpts defaults 0 0
