Sebastian Korfmann is a seasoned Web-Engineer from Germany, working for Bulletproof Networks in Australia and based in Ho-Chi-Minh City, Vietnam.

He looks back on five years of professional Software Engineering and is keen to share his experience with things related to Ruby, Rails & Docker. Hence, he's running "Saigon.rb" & "Docker Saigon" and got involved in organizing various tech workshops.

Docker & CoreOS - A Private PaaS Dream Team?

Pretty much everybody agrees that it shouldn't take more than a "git push" to deliver an application to its deployment target. However, there are many ways to tackle this problem.

I'm going to share the experience we've made while pursuing a long cherished goal: Replacing our internal static infrastructure with a flexible hosting platform. A private PaaS, where continuous delivery wasn't an afterthought, but a first class citizen right from the beginning.

With the lightweight container management of Docker and CoreOS as a distributed Microservice platform, they seem to be a perfect toolset to build a fully automated delivery workflow. Let's find out if they've been able to satisfy our expectations.
