Deploying the Kubernetes Dashboard

add admin user

dashboard-admin-user.yaml

add admin user role

dashboard-admin-user-role.yml (has admin privileges)

add these yamls

kubectl create -f dashboard.admin-user.yml -f dashboard.admin-user-role.yml

grep the token

kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard describe secret admin-user-token | grep ^token

start the proxy to k8s APIs

kubectl proxy

dashboard url is at:

http://localhost:8001/api/v1/namespaces/kubernetes-dashboard/services/https:kubernetes-dashboard:/proxy/

I had to create a token in order to get it:
kubectl -n kubernetes-dashboard create token admin-user
