WELCOME TO ELEPHANT MUD! -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-
As a new player on Elephant Mud, the first thing you should do is type ‘help starting’ to give you an idea of what the game is about.
Take a read through some of the help pages ( a list is available by typing ‘help topics’) and make a note to read the list of Frequently Asked Questions (by typing ‘faq’). If you have a colour terminal, and did not enable colour during the login sequence, you can still see Elephant MUD in colour by typing in ‘setup’ and choosing the terminal option. The one you probably want is ‘ansi’.
If you did not do so during the login sequence, you should have a think about joining a guild some time soon after starting. Joining a guild will give you many extra skills! This is all fully explained in the ‘faq’.
You must be sure to read the rules in the library, which is found downstairs in Drakenwood Keep, including those on multiple characters. If this isnt your first character, ‘mail law’ from the post office or speak to Admin asap, so we can make sure you are correctly registered. If you did not preselect a guild on login, the library will be west, down, west from you.
Ok Euler! Press <enter> to enter Elephant MUD now:
[Druid] Euler joins the Guild of Druids!
You now stand deep in the heart of an enormous ancient oak tree. The air is fresh and clean, and there is a great feeling of serenity here. Small globes float in the air, shedding light for you to see by, and gently warming the room. Just within reach hangs a large healthy looking bunch of mistletoe. It is to here that Druids come to enhance their skills and understanding of the Way. The available commands are ‘cost’, ‘advance’, ‘list <number>’, ‘improve <stat>’, ‘lacking’ and ‘train <skill> <amount>’. You can also ‘reset title’, to reset it to its level default. A small entranceway leads south into the forest, and another opening heads off into the henge to the north. There are five obvious exits: north, east, south, west and down. It seems to throb with power, eager to drink upon the blood of the slain. > take boots You take some Demon Boots. > wear boots You do not have the skill to properly wear this piece of armour. > drop boots You drop your Demon Boots. > look You now stand deep in the heart of an enormous ancient oak tree.
