MTG Cheat Sheet

Phases

  1. Untap
  2. Upkeep (taxes/transformations etc.)
  3. Draw a Card
  4. Play lands, spells, creatures, etc.)
  5. Combat
  • Opponent Reaction
  • Self: Declare attackers
  • Reactions
  • Opponent declares who blocks whom (if blocking creature can block multiple user can divide up damage? confirm this: blocking multiple creatures)
  • Reactions
  • Damage (Damage minus Opponent Toughness)
  • Reactions
  1. Play lands, spells, creatures etc.
  2. Opponent can React
  3. Discard down to 7 cards
  4. Permaments are healed

Card Types

Lands: play only once per turn

Creatures: are casted as spell and become a tapped permanent (1/2)(power/toughness)

Enchantments: permanent. auras got to graveyard if attached creatures dies

Artifact: permanent. some are equipment. equipment has to be summoned and to be equipped after that. equipment can be re-equipeed and does not die with creature

Socery+Instant: non-permanent. go into greaveyard after resolving.

Creature Abilities

  • Deathtouch (kills opposing creature with first attack)
  • Defender (can not attack)
  • Double Strike (attacks once with First-Strikers and a second time along with the Rest)
  • Flash (can be played like an instant)
  • Flying (can only be blocked with Flying or Reach)
  • Haste (no tapping while summoning)
  • Hexproof (opponent can not target this creature wuth spells or abilities)
  • Indestructable (can not be destroyed)
  • Intimidate (can only be blocked by same color or artifact creature)
  • Landwalk (cannot be blocked if opponent has specified land)
  • Lifelink (controller gains life equal to dealt damage)
  • Protection (cannot be damaged, enchanted or blocked)
  • Reach (can block flying)
  • Shroud (cannot be targetet by spells an abilities)
  • Trample (remaining Damage hits Player)
  • Vigilance (does not tap when attacking)
  • Phasing (is in exile every other turn except summons turn, comes back untapped)
