DTR Memo Project: Rotten Tomatillos
Group Member Names: Allison, Allie, Kate
Goals and Expectations for the Project (What does each group member hope to get out of this project? What do we want to achieve as a team? How will we know that we're successful?):
Allie: All required iterations, meet learning goals (understand redux) Kate: Better at testing, work on communicating with the PM on what's important and what's not Allison: Continue growth in testing
Team strengths & collaboration styles (consider discussing your Pairin qualities here):
Allie: Project managing, breaking stuff down into chunks and assigning it Kate: Entreprenurial, coming up with ideas Allison: Communication
How we can use our strengths to overcome obstacles:
Break things down into smaller components and timebox them, figure out priorities, go to rocks and mentors when help is needed.
Do whatever needs to be done, fit what needs to be fit
Go with the flow
Schedule Expectations (When are we available to work together and individually? What constraints do we have?):
Allie: Wednesday ballet, can stay late other days Allison: Pretty open, after school is usually best Kate: Around tm, no basement time after 5:30. If we still need to pair, go somewhere else.
Pairing ok, especially on redux Project board, who is working on what
Communication Expectations (How and often will we communicate? How do we keep lines of communication open? How will we make decisions as a team?):
Project board Slack - merge each other's PR's Stand-up, retro type thing EOD after class.
Abilities & Growth Expectations (Technical strengths and areas for desired improvement):
Allie: Want to learn redux and get better at testing. Trouble with CSS positioning Kate: Would like to be better at testing and user experience flow. Would like experience writing a user story. Want to understand CRUD. Allison: Would like to learn more about CRUD, async await, implementing redux
Workload Expectations (What features do we each want to work on?):
Should all have some redux experience, might be good for pairing. Balance pairing with breaking stuff out. Block out time when we're all online.
Workflow Expectations (Git workflow/Tools/Code Review/Reviewing Pull Requests/Debugging and Problem-solving Techniques):
Expectations for giving and receiving feedback: Allie: Hard feedback ok, just not hard or personal Allison: Doesn't take stuff personally Kate: If someone has an issue, would prefer them to say so. Will go to teachers first to vet feedback on other people.
Project management tools we will use (GitHub projects or Trello are popular tools): GitHub Projects Issues
Day 1 Agenda: Create Repo GitHub board Wireframe each page Architect the React structure of App Create tasks in Github Divide up tasks as much as possible
