I am transitioning my gpg key from a 2048-bit RSA key to a new
4096-bit RSA key.
The new key is signed by the old key, and this transition document
is signed with both keys.
The OLD key was:
pub 2048R/0x531435AC9594CAE0 2013-12-17 [expires: 2016-01-14]
Key fingerprint = 8C3C 99A6 863E CAD3 E484 2E7F 5314 35AC 9594 CAE0
The NEW key is:
pub 4096R/0xB67C19E817A8D846 2016-01-02 [expires: 2017-01-01]
Key fingerprint = 5D77 D9A4 2E28 0F5A FF8F 2EBF B67C 19E8 17A8 D846
To fetch my new key from a public key server, you can simply do:
gpg --keyserver pool.sks-keyservers.net --recv-key 0xB67C19E817A8D846
Additionally, if you're a Keybase user you can retrieve the key from their
website or use their client to verify and/or track it:
keybase id infincia
keybase track infincia
If you already have my old key in your keyring, you can verify that the
new key is signed by the old one:
gpg --check-sigs 0xB67C19E817A8D846
If you don’t already have my old key, or you just want to double check,
you can verify the fingerprint against the one above:
gpg --fingerprint 0xB67C19E817A8D846
If you have both my keys, you can also verify that this document is
signed by both:
gpg --verify [email protected]
