Terminals should generate the 256-color palette

Terminals should generate the 256-color palette from the user's base16 theme.

If you've spent much time in the terminal, you've probably set a custom base16 theme. They work well. You define a handful of colors in one place and all your programs use them.

The drawback is that 16 colors is limiting. Complex and color-heavy programs struggle with such a small palette.

AI Agent Workflow Orchestration Guidelines

AI Coding Agent Guidelines (claude.md)

These rules define how an AI coding agent should plan, execute, verify, communicate, and recover when working in a real codebase. Optimize for correctness, minimalism, and developer experience.

Operating Principles (Non-Negotiable)

  • Correctness over cleverness: Prefer boring, readable solutions that are easy to maintain.
  • Smallest change that works: Minimize blast radius; don't refactor adjacent code unless it meaningfully reduces risk or complexity.

Ralph Driven Development (RDD)

What is this?

This is ralph for ralph driven development. It's a script that keeps running your AI agent agaist some prompts until it says a magic word signaling that it is done with what you needed.

This is mainly done to work with codex but it can be changed to work with anything else.

Guide

This project includes a plan, a sequenced specs backlog, and a script that runs

Create PR from Current Changes

Execute the following workflow to create a Pull Request from current changes:

Workflow Steps

  1. Check current branch status
    • Run git status to see all changes
    • Run git branch --show-current to get current branch name

Native Secure Enclaved backed ssh keys on MacOS

Native Secure Enclave backed ssh keys on MacOS

It turns out that MacOS Tahoe can generate and use secure-enclave backed SSH keys! This replaces projects like https://github.com/maxgoedjen/secretive

There is a shared library /usr/lib/ssh-keychain.dylib that traditionally has been used to add smartcard support to ssh by implementing PKCS11Provider interface. However since recently it also implements SecurityKeyProivder which supports loading keys directly from the secure enclave! SecurityKeyProvider is what is normally used to talk to FIDO2 devices (e.g. libfido2 can be used to talk to your Yubikey). However you can now use it to talk to your Secure Enclave instead!

Beast Mode

Beast Mode is a custom chat mode for VS Code agent that adds an opinionated workflow to the agent, including use of a todo list, extensive internet research capabilities, planning, tool usage instructions and more. Designed to be used with 4.1, although it will work with any model.

Below you will find the Beast Mode prompt in various versions - starting with the most recent - 3.1

Installation Instructions

  • Go to the "agent" dropdown in VS Code chat sidebar and select "Configure Modes".
  • Select "Create new custom chat mode file"

Yakety Documentation (Ordered) - LLM-optimized docs with concrete file references

Update Documentation

You will generate LLM-optimized documentation with concrete file references and flexible formatting.

Your Task

Create documentation that allows humans and LLMs to:

  • Understand project purpose - what the project does and why
  • Get architecture overview - how the system is organized
  • Build on all platforms - build instructions with file references
