But:
s@[email protected] WAS MATCHING

so I only added ^ and $ to match only once:

^[A-Za-z0-9._%-]+@[A-Za-z0-9.-]+\.[A-Za-z]{2,4}\b$

now its ok. Thanks @pedrohills
