1. Harrod's, especially the food halls

2. Hamley's (world's oldest and largest toy store)

3. Oxford Street (equivalent of 5th avenue), especially Selfridge's

4. Hyde Park (there's a Christmas Fair here)

5. Covent Garden (street performers, shopping)

6. Carnaby Street (good shopping)

7. Greenwich (further out of town, good market, but only on certain days)

8. Tower of London - get a boat from Westminster

9. Tate Modern (modern art museum, on the South Bank)

10. British Museum

11. Science Museum

12. If you get the chance, checkout the Westminster tube station on the Jubilee line

13. London Eye (good views across the city, go on a clear day!)

14. Pedestrian bridge across the Thames, from South Bank to St. Paul's

15. Shakespeare's Globe, on the South Bank

16. Houses of parliament / Big Ben / Westminster Abbey, be sure to check out the Winston Churchill statue, then walk to Trafalgar Square, passing Downing Street where the PM lives

17. Camden Town, North of town, has a good market

18. Leicester Square for cheaper tickets to shows

19. Restaurants: Jamie's Italian, Wagamama, Pizza Express are more affordable options
