HAHAHAAA I didn’t even need to do that at all, because it’s been built in since BBEdit 11.6. All I had to do was install flake8. Pays to read the release notes, I guess:
If
flake8is installed (which you can do usingpip install flake8, see the pip website for more details), "Check Syntax" for Python scripts will use it instead, since it provides better diagnostics overall.

This script will almost certainly work on older versions of BBEdit, but I've just posted the versions that I had on hand to test when I wrote the script. Mainly in keeping with earlier versions of this script, but with more columnar and succinct output. Most variables renamed for clarity.
