Github Desktop The Last Free Monad (3.0.5.2) a0622a5
(Windows 7x64bit)
I am very enthusiastic about all thing git and github. It's a blast using your services and they have helped me in projects numerous times. So please don't think of this list a rant. I'd simply like to share my impressions from using this software and hope you can make it even better.
- There is no visual indication in the left pane, that a repo is "dirty". For now, one has to click on each repo and check the top bar for the "No uncommited changes" message.
- Same with commits ahead/behind remote. For now, just hit sync to be save.
- Remote branches seem to come in slow.
- Clone settings: User-choice for ssh/https.
- Use standard windows save dialog (not the small one) when cloning.
- The repositories on the left pane are ordered alphabetically. Grouping repositories (into projects or folders) could provide a better overview.
- "No uncommited changes" view is just empty space. Don't show it.
- Not all branch related options (create, switch, pull request, compare, sync) can be found in one place.
- Inconsistent Button labels: Some use text or icons and some use text and icons.
- Commit timeline: Eliminate buttons on top, show all branches always, make it clearer what is past, present and future (left to right).
- The button (icon) to hide the repo pane is not very explicit.
... just for reading this. Have a nice one.
